Face your Face by Snigom Face your Face by Snigom
Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star (hicarb) india ink and every vintage nib in my possesion on Dick Blick's Drawing paper (9 x 12)

I just felt like making an entire doodle sheet of faces in various styles. It took about 3 days off and on a few hours a day. It also served to practice my inking. Nothing on this page was penciled before hand. This is 100% free-hand..as such there are some raw areas and some mess-ups...but its a lot of fun to travel through the whole picture finding all the little surprises :)

Enjoy :D

LOL! Excellent! :boogie: That fact that anyone would look at it long enough to even consider counting them is a compliment beyond human measure

Well thank you :) I must have been doodling faces for nearly a decade. In my house they are everywhere. I mastered them when i used to do phone-Technical support. I was constantly doodling faces :)

Sweet! Why not? It would please me to know that my work hangs on someone's wall in appreciation. What more can an artist ask for?

Hah. Great picture! Lovely variation and diversity and stuff... looks like it would've been fun.

You know what's really fun? Drawing an ugly face. Like, disgustingly ugly. It's just so fun! Not as satisfying as drawing a perfect face, but still funner

IMO anyways :XD:

Wow, that's a lot of faces...

It kinda reminds me of this statue outside my dad's building. It's so cool! It's a funny shape, but when you walk around it and look at it really hard you'd start to see faces everywhere! So far I've counted 48, but my dad has found 65 :XD:

It's a tall sculpture. Really neat. I'm sorry I couldn't find a bigger picture of it though! Even though there is a picture, you'd actually have to look at it from all angles. If you try to look from just one angle you'll never see all of the faces! It's very interesting ^^ There are two of them to look at  really awesome.

Good question. There are 2 faces I enjoy the most. One is the 2nd largest face on the right-upper-middle. I love the exotic features of her nose...eyes and lips. The second, is the one directly opposite her position. Is the creepy guy with flies buzzing around him and a shit-eating grin on his face. I love his exageration of facial features. He seems the most alive to him of all the faces.

Nice. I am always interested in what the artist's thoughts are on their own works. ;-)

My thoughts are scattered and fly around. In fact, most of the time when I do these types of drawings the main concept is "to come up with the unexpected."

Good concept. I do the same thing, but it's always difficult for me.

Why difficult? As you are drawing, stop and second guess yourself. Decide NOT to draw what you 'normally' would...and think of that which is MOST unexpected...maybe somthing involving squirels, squids, ice cream, peanuts, tooth brushes, scorpians encased in glass. Just off-the-wall things :)

You have a lot of time on your hands. Lawl.

Very interesting to look at, and practicing with pen is a good idea because it helps you to learn how to get it right the first time. ^__^

Why are there no bunnies?

I didn't really have time on my hands until today. Most of this was drawn at night before I went to bed.

Hmmm...true enough :)
