I have succeeded in posting all the associated art that I created this summer for the Animefest convention. I really want to create more art over the course of the year, but sadly I see that slipping away each day I don't draw. I have other side projects and then there's trying to make money. I just need the time and time is something I am rarely given.

Some things to look forward to, I have been writing a book regarding my 10 year research on vintage dip pens. I have written the bulk of the chapters and taken numerous macro photos of the pens. Now I just need to piece it all together and edit it. I have also been blogging about the pens. I have two good posts thus far: vintagenibs.blogspot.com/2014/… and vintagenibs.blogspot.com/2014/… . I also have a fairly successful shop on Etsy if you are in need of vintage pens: www.etsy.com/shop/WhiteAppleMu… . And as always, should you have any questions about vintage pen nibs, do not hesitate to ask! :)

Recently I decided I may want a change in career. I really want to do art...but maybe what I might be better at is teaching. I know a massive amount of traditional techniques; some that are long forgotten. Maybe that is what I will focus on this year...

Furthermore, I would like to say that I will be trying to worm my way into more conventions. Expect to see my art at A-Kon's Art Show next year.
A Fairy by Snigom
A Fairy
Copic Multiliners, some copics, and Steadtler non-photo blue and red pencil, on Dick Blick Drawing paper 9 x 12.

Something I doodled at con once. I decided it was good enough to sell at auction.

AnimeFest 2014 - Art Show Badge by Snigom
AnimeFest 2014 - Art Show Badge
Character was inked using 4001 Pelikan black ink, some copic markers, and prismacolor pencils. The background was 100% created in photoshop using photographs and textures I made myself.

I really was not able to fit the Geisha Yuki into a steam punk setting.  So I created a rusted out, old carriage for her to haunt.

AnimeFest 2014 - Operations Badge
Copic Multiliners on Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Board 9 x 12. Scanned in and colored in Photoshop. The textures were created by photos that I had taken.

This is the Operations Badge for the AnimeFest 2014 convention. The theme was Steam Punk. I had some trouble with this one because my ideas were too broad and the execution didn't seem to hit the correct mark. Although I am proud of the hidden Voight Kampff machine. :)

AnimeFest 2014 - Cosplay Badge
Copic Multiliners and Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Board 9 x 12. Scanned in and colored IN Photoshop.

This is the Cosplay Badge I submitted for AnimeFest 2014. Because we are suppose to use the mascot Kiko and the theme is Steam Punk...you have Sailor 'Steam Punk' Moon. After I finished it, I realized I wasn't happy with the colors, so I took the original line art and made a traditional version here: snigom.deviantart.com/art/Sail…

Well, sending a note means the subject of the commission is private and not subject to trolls and negative comments ;) :)

Some one shared your tutorials here : imgur.com/gallery/iGcYg

I don't know if they had your permission or not, or if you are cool
with others sharing your work, but just making sure you know. :)

It's cool. I learned to live with the fact that if you post something on the internet(s) you have to be willing to let it go. It's all worth it if just one person learns from it and improves :).  Although, after reading the comments on that IMGUR.....ugh. I don't think anyone there really gave many rat's poops -__- sorry for them.

Your tutorials are so helpful in ways that other references and other tutorials don't even come close to. Thank you so much!
